Veteran Feminists of America (VFA) is pleased to host “Sharing Our Stories:  The Second Wave Feminist Movement.”

This full-day event will be held Friday, March 31, at the Hilton Durham Hotel near Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

“Historians and Feminists:  An Intergenerational Conversation” will begin at 9:30 am with a keynote address by Dr. Nancy MacLean.  That will be followed by three panel discussions between Second Wave activists and young historians who are studying the women’s movement.

Details about the panelists are featured in the “Details of Events” page.

Friday night, beginning at 5:00 pm, VFA is hosting “A Salute to Southern Feminists” - a reception and awards dinner honoring Second Wave feminists from Southern states.  Please nominate Southern feminists to be honored using the nomination forms on this site.

On Thursday, March 30, from 4:00 until 6:00 pm, there will be a welcome reception at the Sallie Bingham Center for Women’s History and Culture at the Rubenstein Library, Duke University campus.  This is a unique opportunity to tour the Library and view its archives that feature materials reflecting the lives of women throughout history.
